INTEREST IN ULTRA-MINIMALLY INVASIVE TECHNIQUES
Dr. Celene Hui is dedicated to advancing patient care through the least invasive, evidence-based approaches for conditions such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and abnormal menstrual bleeding. She is driven by the transformation she witnesses in her patients—not only improved cosmesis, but also quicker recovery, less pain, and an overall better quality of life after surgery.
Dr. Celene continually upgrades her skills, embracing innovative, evidence-based methods to provide the best possible care for her patients. She was the first gynaecologist in Singapore to perform radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for symptomatic fibroids, after learning the technique in Spain—offering women a uterus-preserving, minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery.
She is equally passionate about vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery), an ultra–minimally invasive “scarless” technique that eliminates abdominal incisions, reduces pain, and speeds recovery.
Holding iNOTES certification from the International NOTES Society, she has further refined her skills through observerships with internationally acclaimed surgeons, including world-renowned Professor Jan Baekelandt of Belgium, a pioneer and global leader in vNOTES. Under Prof Baekelandt’s mentorship, she has co-authored scientific publications on advanced applications of vNOTES.

Dr. Celene Hui

LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY IN WOMEN'S HEALTH
Beyond her clinical practice, she is deeply engaged in advancing women’s health. She serves on the Executive Council of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) and the Council of the Society for Gynaecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery Singapore (SGMIS), and previously contributed to the AOFOG Special Interest Group for Minimally Invasive Surgery.
These organisations play a vital role in shaping the field—organising scientific congresses, developing clinical guidelines, and hosting educational workshops and professional training sessions. Through these roles, she upholds the highest standards in her own practice while helping to raise the standard of care for women nationally and internationally.
